Nothing to see here, folks

We’re mostly just catching up with all the ends that loosened themselves this year. Don’t expect much more will happen housewise until the next 3-day weekend of next year. Happy winter to all!

Hi Chris, I remember you from Old House Web and you having info about Roper Stoves. Well, FINALLY found a stove and hoping that, if all works out, will be the owner of a Roper. It looks like a 1960’s – early one, match lit, broiler on the bottom. Is it easy to find parts? Repair?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks and Happy New Year!

    Cathy!

Great to hear from you. And great to hear about your lucky Roper acquisition.

There are lots of Ropers in this area because it was the stove the gas company offered. So it shouldn’t be hard to find parts, though I haven’t had to dig for any myself other than knobs. These things are built to last! So you really shouldn’t need repairs. Let’s talk more once you’ve got your new workhorse in your kitchen.

Thanks so much for looking me up and Happy New Year to you and yours!
