The first tomato to go in is Hillbilly.
This is the latest flame in my love affair with bicolors. Others I’m growing this year are old standby Lucky Cross and young upstart Tennessee Surprise. I started planting late this year (usually get things rolling on May 15) but the next few days are looking like great tomato weather.
Also, please join my in appreciating dirt.
I forget how rich my soil is, since I keep it covered with mulch most of the time. Adding organic materials over time really does pay off.
